About Our Founder

Paul McFarren has an extensive background in executive leadership, business development, information technology, distribution and all aspects of retail-related operations.  

A businessman first, his entrepreneurial nature has enabled him to apply this background in the context of executive management positions in everything from a start-up to very large, global retail organizations.  He is also credentialed as the former CEO of a software company and partner in a global-reaching consultancy performing extensive risk evaluation of alternative energy projects.

His international experience includes management of retail support organizations in many parts of the world, including the Americas, Europe and Southeast Asia.  He has performed a considerable amount of work in the global alternative energy arena in countries such as Brazil, India and China. 

Paul has broad operational experience in managing company performance, including development and deployment of key operating metrics throughout a typical retail operation.  Paul has participated on both sides of the mergers and acquisitions table; effectively managing the strategic planning, transition and consolidation of business operations.

Paul’s background includes significant business process re-engineering in Supply Chain Logistics, Planning & Allocation, Merchandise Planning, Warehouse Management, Distribution & Fulfillment, Store POS, Financial Management, Human Resources and Real Estate Management.  He also specializes in enterprise-level PCI and Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance.

Paul is well published, having written white papers on the future of Multi-Channel Retailing and IT Transitioning as well as critical synopses on the Global Alternative Energy market.  He also authors a bi-weekly newsletter outlining critical events in the specialty retail space.  Many of these can be found on his LinkedIn Profile.  

He has served and continues to serve as an adviser to the board of directors for several technology-focused companies.

Paul graduated from Cornell University in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering.
